Day 126: Mixed Review / Converting between Customary and Metric / Challenge Day Cont.

Today in Math 6, students in 1 and 3° continued their work from yesterday with the challenge problems as well as received some application of previously learned material.

In 2°, Math 6 students worked with approximations for Lesson 10.8 Relate Customary Unit to Metric. The objective was to build on the student's prior knowledge in previous lessons with converting amongst similar units and extend it by incorporating approximations because the conversions are not always exact.

During 7 °, students in Math 6+ continued working on the problems from yesterday.  Mr. Giomini circulated the room to check on student progress and provide insight for those still puzzled by a few of the questions.

Today's Learning Targets: The student will be able to...

• use ratio reasoning to convert measurement units. (2°)
• manipulate and transform units appropriately when multiplying and dividing quantities. (2°)
