Day 125: Challenge Day / Metric Measurement / Challenge Day

Today in Math 6, students in 1 and 3° reviewed their logic puzzler from last night with Mr. Giomini. Students were then given a Challenge Day assignment where they had to work independently and eventually with a partner to answer several application based problems from concepts presented earlier in the year.  

In 2°, Math 6 students continued to work with Lesson 10.7: Convert Metric Units.  As a class, Mr. Giomini modeled story problems from the student's workbook.  Afterwards, students completed the lesson Quick Check online for a quiz grade.  If time permitted, students began work on their evening practice. 

During 7 °, students in Math 6+ reviewed last night's logic puzzler with Mr. Giomini to check and see if anyone accurately aligned all of the information.  Students were then placed in small groups of two to three to collaborate on Challenge Day questions.

• use ratio reasoning to convert measurement units. (2°)
• manipulate and transform units appropriately when multiplying and dividing quantities. (2°)

• All Classes: Complete at least 10 minutes of work on Khan Academy to help review old content, practice new material, or front-load future concepts.
