Day 124: Logic Puzzler / Convert Metric Units / Logic Puzzler

Today in Math 6, students in and 3° received their Graphical Representations posttest back that was administered last Friday.  As a whole, students performed exceptionally well with this material.

Mr. Giomini introduced deductive logic puzzles to the students in class.  As a group, the students and Mr. Giomini discussed how to use clues and a grid to attempt to solve these logic perplexors.  Students eventually worked on their own independently.  Time was given towards the end of class partner up with a colleague to compare answers.  



In Math 6 students continued to work with Lesson 10.7: Convert Metric Units.  During this lesson, students utilize the conversion skills that they practiced in Lesson 10.6 to begin to convert between units in the metric system.  



During 7 °, students in Math 6+ received their Graphical Representations posttest back from Friday.  Mr. Giomini answered any questions that the students had regarding their score.  

Students then worked independently and after some time, with a partner, to complete a logic puzzler.

  • use ratio reasoning to convert measurement units. (2°)
  • manipulate and transform units appropriately when multiplying and dividing quantities. (2°)

    • Complete a handout from Mr. Giomini.
    • Have 75% of 6th Grade Khan Skills mastered by March 23rd.
  • 2° -
    • Complete page 515.
    • Have 75% of 6th Grade Khan Skills mastered by March 23rd.
  • 7° - 
    • Complete a handout from Mr. Giomini.
    • Have 50% of 7th Grade Khan Skills mastered by March 23rd.
  • All Classes: Complete at least 10 minutes of work on Khan Academy to help review old content, practice new material, or front-load future concepts.
