Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students completed the Topic Seven: Data Analysis posttest.
During Math 6 - 2°, students continued their work with Lesson 9.5 Ratios and Graphs. Upon entering the classroom, students had to complete two tables using equivalent ratios and then graph the results on a coordinate plane where both tables could be easily compared.
The remainder of the class was spent with students working independently with ratios and graphs in their workbooks. The last ten minutes of class was allotted for students to dialogue with peers about their work.

Math 6+ students completed the Topic Seven: Data Analysis posttest.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements, find missing values in the tables, and plots pairs of values on a coordinate plane. (2°)
- recognize a statistical question as one that anticipates variability in the data related to the question. (1, 3, and 7°)
- understand that a set of data collected to answer a statistical question can be described by its center, spread, and shape. (1, 3, and 7°)
- recognize that a measure of center for a numerical data set summarizes all of its values with a single number, while a measure of variation describes how its values vary with a single number. (1, 3, and 7°)
- report the number of observations. (1, 3, and 7°)
- display numerical data sets in dot plots. (1, 3, and 7°)
- describe any overall pattern and any striking deviations from the overall pattern with reference to the context in which the data were gathered. (1, 3, and 7°)
