Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students were given a data set from which they needed to construct a dot plot as well as identify and calculate the measures of center and variability. Students were then shown 16 questions which the data could have come from. Analyzing their data and the different questions, they needed to select the appropriate question that represents the data given to them and provide justification for their reasoning.
During Math 6 - 2°, students worked with Lesson 9.4: Comparing Ratios. The focus of the lesson is to take what was learned from using multiplication and division to generate equivalent ratios and putting that information into tables to compare ratios and solve problems.

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- understand ratio concepts and use ratio reasoning to solve problems. (2°)
- use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems. (2°)
- make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements, find missing values in the tables, and plots pairs of values on a coordinate plane. (2°)
- recognize that a measure of center for a numerical data set summarizes all of its values with a single number. (1, 3, & 7°)
- display numerical data in plots on a number line, including dot plots. (1, 3, & 7°)
- give quantitative measures of center and variability. (1, 3, & 7°)
- describe how a measure of variation describes how its values vary with a single number. (1, 3, and 7°)
