Day 104: Gizmo Day

Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students worked independently on the Mean, Median, and Mode Gizmo. The Gizmo helped solidify yesterday's classwork and evening practice.  

During Math 6 - 2°, students continued their work with ratios and working with part:part and part:whole.  To help solidify the concept of ratios, students worked with a Gizmo which is an online activity that allows students to manipulate parts and wholes to help strengthen their overall understanding.

Students in Math 6+ worked independently on the Mean, Median, and Mode Gizmo. The Gizmo helped solidify yesterday's classwork and evening practice.  

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...

1. understand the concept of ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. (2°)
2. use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems. (2°)
3. recognize that a measure of center for a numerical data set summarizes all of its values with a single number. (1, 3, & 7°)
4. display numerical data in plots on a number line, including dot plots.  

For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:

1. Math 6(1&3°): 
• Work towards 75% mastery on Khan Academy (6th Grade)
2. Math 6(2°): 
• Work towards 75% mastery on Khan Academy (6th Grade)
3. Math 6+: 
• Work towards 50% mastery on Khan Academy (7th Grade)
4. All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
