Day 94: Discounts & Commission / Lesson 6.5 / Scholastic Magazine

Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students continued their work with discounts and commission.  After modeling some problems, Mr. Giomini had students use Khan Academy to complete a skill that provided practice with the concepts.

During Math 6 - 2°, students began test preparation for next Thursday's Topic Six posttest.  

Students in Math 6+ utilized their knowledge with percents to work with an article titled "History Under Threat" that discussed the impact of war, climate, and other events on UNESCO's World Heritage sites.

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...

1. use proportional relationships to solve multistep ratio and percent problems. (1&3°)
2. fluently divide multi-digit numbers. (2°)
3. evaluate expressions at specific values. (2°) 
4. calculate percent increase and decrease.  (7°)

For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:

1. Math 6(1&3°): 
• Work towards 75% mastery on Khan Academy (6th Grade)
2. Math 6(2°): 
• Work towards 75% mastery on Khan Academy (6th Grade)
3. Math 6+: 
• Work towards 50% mastery on Khan Academy (7th Grade)
4. All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
