Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students worked independently to solve several fraction calculations that incorporated multiple operations in one problem. The goal is to become more fluent when working with fractions which is a skill that is assessed on next week's Topic Three posttest.
During Math 6 - 2°, students worked with plotting ordered pairs, (x, y), on a coordinate plane. The coordinate plane was broken into different quadrants and each was given a specific characteristic based on positive and negative intercepts.
Students in Math 6+ stretched their current understanding of fractional calculations to include problems dealing with PEMDAS.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- fluently divide multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm. (1, 3, & 7°)
- apply and extend previous understandings of numbers to the system of rational numbers. (2°)
- identify and graph points with integer coordinates on the coordinate plane. (2°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6(1&3): Pages 5 and 6
- Math 6(2): Pages 189 and 190
- Math 6+: Page 16
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
