Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students continued to develop greater fluency with fractions by incorporating them into equations which was practiced on Monday for evening practice. Refer to the video below to help practice and review work from today's lesson.
During Math 6 - 2°, students built upon yesterday's knowledge with graphing integers to incorporate rational numbers. Emphasis was placed on using the origin, (0, 0), as home and moving along the x-axis prior to moving along the y-axis.
Students in Math 6+ worked on determining the measures of center and spread when analyzing data sets containing fractions.
Students in Math 6+ worked on determining the measures of center and spread when analyzing data sets containing fractions.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- fluently divide multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm. (1, 3, & 7°)
- apply and extend previous understandings of numbers to the system of rational numbers. (2°)
- identify and graph points with integer coordinates on the coordinate plane. (2°)
- give quantitative measures of center. (7°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6(1&3): Page 34
- Math 6(2): Page 196
- Math 6+: Page 37
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
