Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students continued their work with adding and subtracting mixed numbers.
During Math 6 - 2°, students were administered the Topic Three: Rational Numbers posttest.
Students in Math 6+ worked with computations with fractions and solving algebraic equations with rational numbers.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values. (2°)
- understand ordering and absolute value of rational numbers. (2°)
- recognize opposite signs of numbers as indicating locations on opposite sides of 0 on the number line. (2°)
- use visual fraction models to represent problems. (7°)
- interpret and compute quotients of fractions. (7°)
- solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions. (7°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6(1&3) - Pages 1 - 4
- Math 6(2): Page 182
- Math 6+: Pages 9 and 20
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
