Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students worked with adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. Negatives were also used to help reinforce our earlier work with adding and subtracting integers.
During Math 6 - 2°, students worked on preparing for Friday's Topic Three: Rational Numbers posttest.
Students in Math 6+ worked with multiplying and dividing decimals. Mr. Giomini challenged the students to provide illustrations for their products and quotients.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions. (1, 3, and 7°)
- use visual fraction models to represent problems. (7°)
- understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values. (2°)
- understand ordering and absolute value of rational numbers. (2°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6(1&3) - Page 33
- Math 6(2): Study for Topic Three posttest
- Math 6+: Pages 12 and 13
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
