Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students worked more with multiplying fractions and mixed numbers.
During Math 6 - 2°, students completed a Quick Check where they had to plot eight rational numbers on a number line. This task was then graded and discussed. Mr. Giomini then had students working independently to complete a task with ordering rational numbers.
Students in Math 6+ worked with dividing decimals. Students also applied this skill to word problems.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit decimals using the standard algorithm for each operation. (1, 3, and 7°)
- use a rational number as a point on a number line. (2°)
- understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values. (2°)
- recognize opposite signs of numbers as indicating locations on opposite sides of 0 on the number line. (2°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6 - Enjoy the Halloween weekend
- Math 6 - 2°: Enjoy the Halloween weekend
- Math 6+: Enjoy the Halloween weekend
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
