Today in Math 6 - 1 & 3°, students reviewed last night's evening practice with Mr. Giomini. Students then worked individual and then in pairs to complete an activity dealing with integers and golf.
During Math 6 - 2°, students worked on solving one-step equations dealing with addition and subtraction.
Students in Math 6+, completed a quiz dealing with integer computations, equations, absolute value, and coordinate plane.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- find and position integers and other rational numbers on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram. (1 and 3°)
- reason about and solve one-variable equations and inequalities. (2°)
- solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations of the form x + p = q and px = q for cases in which p, q and x are all nonnegative rational numbers. (2°)
- graph absolute value inequalities on a coordinate plane. (7°)
- solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers in any form. (7°)
- use variables to represent quantities in a real-world or mathematical problem. (7°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6 - 1 & 3: Handout from Mr. Giomini
- Math 6 - 2°: Page 97 and 98 in the enVision workbook
- Math 6+: Enjoy the night off
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
