In Common Core Math Six today, students completed a four question Socrative dealing with translating word phrases into algebraic expressions to help review Chapter Two concepts.

Mr. Giomini then introduced Lesson 3.2: Coordinate Plane.  During this lesson, terms such as: origin, ordered pair, point, quadrants, and x and y-axis were introduced, modeled, and independently practiced.  Students also plotted points on a giant coordinate grid on the back dry erase board.

Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...

• draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates.
• use coordinates to find the length of a line segment.

For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...

• complete Khan Skill: Coordinate Word Problems in All Four Quadrants.
• complete pages 9 and 10  in Chapter Three.
