Class Topics: 05.21.14

Common Core Math Six students in  began class by completing another Socrative to help us with slope and slope-intercept form.  Mr. Giomini then introduced and modeled Lesson 12.8: Set Theory.

During 2°, students continued their work with Lesson 11.5: Solving Inequalities with Addition and Subtraction.  Students who worked in the small groups yesterday continued in those groups to help enrich and reteach.

In , students  reviewed the Evening Practice from Lesson 12.7: Rates Change.  Lesson 12.8: Set Theory was then introduced and modeled by Mr. Giomini.

In 4°, students reviewed slope intercept and y-intercept form.

Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
  •  -
    • use set notation.
    • identify relationships between sets.
  •  -
    • read an inequality.
    • solve an inequality that involves addition and subtraction.
    • graph an inequality.
  • 3° -
    • use set notation.
    • identify relationships between sets.
  •  -
    • determine the slope of a line.
    • interpret slope-intercept form.
    • graph a line given one point, the y-intercept, and the slope.
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...
