Class Topics: 05.19.14

Common Core Math Six students in  began class by completing a Socrative skill that covered Lesson 12.1 - 12.5.  Students reviewed nonlinear functions from Friday.  Lesson 12.7: Rates of Change was introduced, modeled, and discussed with Mr. Giomini facilitating the dialogue.

During 2°, students took Friday's success with reading and writing inequalities to complete an online Socrative skill.   Lesson 11.5: Solving Inequalities with Addition and Subtraction was modeled and practiced in class.

In , students reviewed the Chapter Twelve Midpoint Quiz.  Lesson 12.6: Nonlinear Functions was modeled and practiced.

In 4°, students completed the Chapter Twelve Midpoint Quiz.

Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
  •  -
    • learn to identify nonlinear functions.
    • determine rates changes by analyzing a table and graph.
  •  -
    • read an inequality.
    • solve an inequality that involves addition and subtraction.
    • graph an inequality.
  • 3° -
    • learn to identify nonlinear functions.
    • generate instances where a function would be nonlinear.
    • graph a nonlinear function.
  •  -
    • determine the slope of a line.
    • interpret slope-intercept form.
    • graph a line given one point, the y-intercept, and the slope.
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...
