Class Topics: 05.16.14

Common Core Math Six students in  received several nonlinear functions that they had to solve and graph.

During 2°, students progressed on to Lesson 11.4: Inequalities.  In this lesson, students learned how to read, solve, and graph inequalities.

In , students completed the Chapter Twelve Midpoint Quiz.

In 4°, students spent time reviewing slope-intercept form with a colleague in preparation for Monday's Chapter Twelve Midpoint Quiz.  Mr. Giomini supplied the students with patterns that they had to construct functions for as well as examples of slope-intercept form.

Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
  •  -
    • learn to identify nonlinear functions.
    • generate instances where a function would be nonlinear.
    • graph a nonlinear function.
  •  -
    • read an inequality.
    • solve an inequality.
    • graph an inequality.
  • 3° -
    • create a function to model a sequence.
    • determine the slope of a line.
    • interpret slope-intercept form.
    • graph a line given one point, the y-intercept, and the slope.
  •  -
    • determine the slope of a line.
    • interpret slope-intercept form.
    • graph a line given one point, the y-intercept, and the slope.
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...
