Class Topics: 09.24.13

In Common Core Math Six, students in 1, 3, and reviewed last night's Evening Practice with a peer before class began.  Mr. Giomini introduced the problem below to the students to give them an idea of what the application of today's skill looks like in the real-world.  
Lesson 2.6: Least Common Multiple was introduced, modeled, discussed, and practiced both independently and cooperatively with a peer.  

Students in completed the Chapter Two midpoint quiz in class.  This score will be posted to Gradebook Wizard later in the day.
Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
  • fluently determine the least common multiple between two and three numbers.  (1, 3, and 4°)
  • apply their understanding of greatest common factor and least common multiple to various real-world applications.   (1, 3, and 4°)
  • compute the product for bases and exponents.  (2°)
  • convert between scientific and standard notation.  (2°)
  • use the rules of PEMDAS to simplify numerical expressions.  (2°)
