In Pre-Algebra today, students discussed their Evening Practice with peers who completed a similar level from last night. Once that was complete, students had 20 minutes to complete several story problems in the cafeteria with two colleagues. These problems dealt with fractions, decimals and percents and were real-world applications of the skills that we have been practicing and assessing in class. Mr. Giomini then modeled and discussed the questions with the class as a whole.
- Emma bought a drill for 85% of its original price. She paid $32.89 for the drill. What was the original price of the drill?
- Ryder took a friend out to lunch. Once the bill came, he insisted on paying for the meal. If Ryder wants to leave an 18% tip, how much will he have to pay in all if the cost of the meal was $56.89?
