Class Topics: 01.30.13

In Math Six today, students completed the Unit Six Formative Pretest. The pretest that was administered today was from the Holt Pre-Algebra curriculum.  Over the next three weeks, students will use both the Math Six and Pre-Algebra curriculum to help deepen their understanding of the content being presented.

  1. naming and identifying the reciprocal of a number. 
  2. using an algorithm to add and subtract integers.
  3. using an algorithm to multiply and divide fractions.
  4. applying order of operations to evaluate numeric expressions.
  5. solving equations that have integers.
  6. converting between scientific notation and numbers.
For Evening Practice, it is required that students...
  1. complete Math Journal II page 207.
In Pre-Algebra today, students completed their Chapter Seven Formative Pretest.
Today's Learning Goals: The student will show what they CURRENTLY know about...
  1. finding unit rates.
  2. identifying similar figures.
  3. writing, solving and using proportions.
  4. making measurement conversions.
  5. understanding and using scale drawings, scale factors and scale maps.
  6. using dimensional analysis to solve problems.
For Evening Practice, it is required that the students...
  1. answer questions 16, 20 - 23 and  27 - 29 on pages 344 and 345.
