Day 86: All Classes: Calculation Quiz

Math 6 and Math 6+ students completed their first Calculation Quiz of the third quarter. Mr. Giomini then spent time reviewing work from yesterday´s classes to ensure that students understood the content.

Skills that were introduced, modeled, practiced, and informally assessed today in class include:

Math 6:

• Fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit decimals using a standard algorithm for each operation.
• Write equivalent values as fractions, decimals, and percents.
• Write fractions as decimals and percents when the denominator of the fraction is not 100.

Math 6+:

• Fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit decimals using a standard algorithm for each operation.
• Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 (e.g., 30% of a quantity means 30/100 times the quantity). 
• Solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent.
