Students were encouraged to check their work by multiplying the quotient and divisor to get the dividend. The Multiplication Property of Equality was modeled and discussed to help with the understanding how to eliminate the decimal in the divisor. Mr. Giomini challenged the students to develop a new algorithm for division if they were able to while in class.
