Day 162: Retake / Review / Inequality Word Problems

Today in 1 and 3° Math 6, students had an opportunity to retake the Volume and Surface Area posttest. Those who elected not to were provided time to catch up on Khan Academy.


In 2°, Math 6 students worked independently and in pairs to solve several volume and surface area problems in preparation for Thursday's posttest.

Students in 7° Math 6+ worked with writing and solving multistep inequalities from story problems.

Today's Learning Targets: The student will be able to...
  • understand solving an equation or inequality as a process of answering a question. (7°)
  • use substitution to determine whether a given number makes an equation or inequality true. ( 7°)
  • find the volume and surface area of a right rectangular prism. (1, 2, and 3°)

  • 1 and 3° -
    • Have 100% of 6th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
  • 2° -
    • Work on online assessment piece through Pearson.
    • Have 100% of 6th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
    • 7° -
      • Handout from Mr. Giomini.
      • Have 100% of 7th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
    • All Classes: Complete at least 10 minutes of work on Khan Academy to help review old content, practice new material, or front-load future concepts.
