Day 161: Multistep Equations / Volume and Surface Area / Multistep Inequalities

Today in 1 and 3° Math 6, students continued their work with solving multistep equations that included having variables on both sides of the equal sign.

In 2°, Math 6 students solved several problems that incorporated both volume and surface area including real-world scenarios.

Students in 7° Math 6+ worked with solving multistep inequalities where inequality signs had to be changed to make the inequality read true.

Today's Learning Targets: The student will be able to...
  • understand solving an equation or inequality as a process of answering a question. (1, 3, and 7°)
  • use substitution to determine whether a given number makes an equation or inequality true.              (1, 3, and 7°)
  • find the surface area of a right rectangular prism. (2°)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...
  • 1 and 3° -
    • Complete page 18.
    • Have 100% of 6th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
  • 2° -
    • Complete 14.4 Practice Buddy.
    • Have 100% of 6th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
    • 7° -
      • Complete page 39.
      • Have 100% of 7th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
    • All Classes: Complete at least 10 minutes of work on Khan Academy to help review old content, practice new material, or front-load future concepts.
