Day 156: Volume and Surface Area / Posttest

Today in 1 and 3°, students completed a practice assessment with a teacher-assigned peer to help serve as a study guide for tomorrow's Volume and Surface Area posttest.

In Math 6 during 2°, students continued their work with calculating the volume of cubes, right rectangular prisms, and triangular based prisms.

During Math 6+, students were administered the Volume and Surface Area posttest.

Today's Learning Targets: The student will be able to...
  • find the surface area of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths. (1, 2, and 3°)
  • solve real-world and mathematical problems involving area, volume, and surface area of two-and three-dimensional objects, - 7th grade (7°)
  • know the formulas for the volumes of cones, cylinders, and spheres and use them to solve real-world and mathematical problems. - 8th grade (7°)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...
  • 1 and 3° -
    • Prepare for Tuesday's Volume and Surface Area posttest.
    • Have 100% of 6th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
  • 2° -
    • Handout from Mr. Giomini.
    • Have 100% of 6th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
    • 7° -
      • Have 100% of 7th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
    • All Classes: Complete at least 10 minutes of work on Khan Academy to help review old content, practice new material, or front-load future concepts.
