Day 149: Hands-On Surface Area and Volume / Area of Trapezoid

Today in 1 and 3° Math 6 as well as Math 6+, students worked with physical objects and rulers to determine both their surface area and volume.
  

In Math 6 during 2°, students continued their work with calculating the area of triangles.  Mr. Giomini presented to the students how to calculate the area of a trapezoid.

Today's Learning Targets: The student will be able to...

• find the area of right triangles and other special triangles, special quadrilaterals and other polygons. (2°)
• find the surface area of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths. (1, 3 and 7°)
