Day 148: Surface Area / Plane Geometry / Surface Area

Today in 1 and 3° Math 6, students were introduced to the surface area of cubes and right rectangular prisms.

  

In Math 6 during 2°, students were introduced to Plane Geometry.  Mr. Giomini modeled to students how to calculate the area of certain quadrilaterals and triangles.

Math 6+ students worked with calculating the surface area of right rectangular prisms, cylinders, and cones.

Today's Learning Targets: The student will be able to...

• find the area of right triangles and other special triangles, special quadrilaterals and other polygons. (2°)
• find the surface area of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths. (1, 3 and 7°)
