Day 141: Circles / Mean / Assessment Questions

Today in 1° Math 6, students reviewed the area and circumference of circles.

In Math 6 during 2°, students continued their work with exploring mean.  This lesson work with problems similar to the one posted below.   (We are revisiting this because we were unable to get to it due to MAP testing on Friday.)

Students in 3° worked with area and circumference of circles.  Mr. Giomini discussed the relationship between pi, radius, and diameter.  (We are revisiting this because we were unable to get to it due to MAP testing on Friday.)

Math 6+ students were tasked with creating questions for the upcoming posttest.

Today's Learning Targets: The student will be able to...
  • recognize that a measure of center for a numerical data set summarizes all of its values with a single number, while a measure of variation describes how its values vary with a single number. (2°)
  • summarize numerical data sets in relation to their context. (2°)
  • find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes. (1, 3 and 7°)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...
  • 1° -
    • Begin test preparation.
    • Have 100% of 6th Grade Khan Skills mastered by May 27th.
