Day 22: Test Preparation / Quiz

Today in Math 6, students in  and completed an online assessment that was automatically scored to help with test preparation for Monday's Concept One posttest.

During Math 6 - 2°, Mr. Giomini reviewed last night's homework from Lesson 1.7: Simplifying Expressions. Extended examples with combining like terms were modeled for students prior to a quick check dealing with combining like terms was administered.

Math 6+ students reviewed the previous day's pre-assessment results to address any topic concerns prior to Monday's posttest.

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
  1. write expressions that record operations with numbers and letters standing for numbers. (1 and 3°)
  2. identify parts of an expression using mathematical terms (sum, term, product, factor, quotient, coefficient.  (2°)
  3. simplify algebraic expressions by combining like terms.  (all classes)
  4. apply the properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions.  (all classes)
  5. write and evaluate numerical expression involving whole-number exponents. (all classes)
  6. evaluate expressions at specific values of their variables.  (all classes)
  7. fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
  1. Math 6 - 1 & 3: Practice Buddy 1.8
  2. Math 6 - 2°:  Exponents Quick Check / Evaluate Numerical Expressions Quick Check
  3. Math 6+:  Practice Buddy 1.8
