Class Topics: 09.07.12

In Math Six today, students created histograms using data that was pulled from either a timed fact test or our Unit One Pre-tests.  This is a skill that is going to be assessed on next week's Unit One Summative Assessment.
Today's Learning Intentions: The student will be able to...
  1. organize data.
  2. decide on an appropriate range for a histogram.
  3. explain the advantages and disadvantages of a histogram.
For Weekend Practice, the student CAN...
  1. make corrections to their Unit One Pre-test.
  2. view videos on the blog from Mr. Giomini to help with some of the skills from Unit One.

In Pre-Algebra today, students collaborated in pairs or pods to complete an activity where they had to graph an equation on a coordinate plane.  This helped review a similar skill from yesterday and will better prepare us for Wednesday's Chapter One Summative Assessment.
Today's Learning Intentions: The student will be able to...
  1. graph points and lines on the coordinate plane.
  2. substitute values into an equation to solve for y.
For Weekend Practice, the student CAN...
  1. make corrections to their Chapter One Formative Pre-test.
