Class Topics: 03.21.12

In EDM, students reviewed last night's homework with the Mr. Giomini.  We discussed whether printing off a Study Link from the blog caused any undue stress because that was something new for us yesterday.  Lesson 7.5: Using Tree Diagrams to Calculate Probabilities was the focus of today's class time.  Together, students completed MJ260 which took yesterday's lesson and integrated fractions into the choices that are made when analyzing a tree diagram.
Today's Learning Intentions: The students will be able to...
  1. create a tree diagram.
  2. use a tree diagram to help calculate theoretical (expected) probabilities.
For Evening Practice, students CAN...
  1. complete Math Box 7.5
  2. complete MJ261 which was started in class.

In Pre-Algebra, students viewed a video modeling some of the more complicated practice skills from yesterday's Khan Skills.  Yesterday's Khan activities were frustrating, but were utilized so that students could become aware of what was expected in Chapter Eight: Percents.  Students completed their Chapter Eight Formative Pretest.
Today's Learning Intentions: The students will be able to...
  1. demonstrate their current level of understanding when it comes to percent computations and solving story problems that involve various steps.
For Evening Practice, students CAN...
  1. complete Problem Solving 8.1 and 8.2 which is posted to the blog.  (This can be printed out at school, home or answers can be transferred to a piece of paper and turned in for credit.)
