Class Topics: 02.27.12

In EDM and Pre-Algebra today, students took the first in a series of Ohio Achievement Assessment Probes.  The purpose of these probes are to give the students immediate feedback so that they can become more reflective learners.  Mr. Giomini will conference with the students after their probes are scored and discuss their strengths and weaknesses on the six different questions that they were assessed on.

While taking the probes, students are encouraged to utilize the test taking strategies that have been shared by teachers since the students' fifth grade year at Troy. During the one-on-one conference, students will attempt to show continued growth by charting their results on the probes over time.  This data collection will hopefully make the results more realistic to the students and give them a greater sense of ownership for their scores.

In class, students in EDM and Pre-Algebra...
  • completed their first Mathematics Probe.
For Evening Practice, students CAN...

Think about what steps can make
you more successful.

  1. I went to Khan Academy and finished the "Writing Proportions" link. I had a little trouble, but got through it... then I realized I wasn't logged in.
