Day Eight: Quiz Preparation

Students in Math 6 worked on reviewing content from Lessons 1.1 - 1.3. The focus for these lessons were the following skills:
  1. adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimals.
  2. dividing decimals with decimals in the divisor and dividend.
  3. multiplying fractions and mixed numbers.
In class, students used enVision to review skills from the three lessons.

Math 6+ students worked through a Gallery Walk solving various problems. Problems were posted in the hallway outside of Mr. Giomini's classroom. On the front were problems or questions and on the back was the correct answer. During the activity, Mr. Giomini provided guidance when needed.

Standards addressed in today's lesson:
  • 6.NS.A.1: Interpret and compute quotients of fractions, and solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions, e.g., by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem.
  • 7.NS.A.1.C: Understand subtraction of rational numbers as adding the additive inverse, p - q = p + (-q). Show that the distance between two rational numbers on the number line is the absolute value of their difference, and apply this principle in real-world contexts.
