Day 110: Construction / Quiz

Students in Math 6 completed a Geometry Construction activity. The task was accompanied by a rubric. For 15 minutes, students had to work independently to complete as much of the task as possible. They were then given ten minutes to conference with a peer to compare and construct each other's work. Finally, students were then given the final 15 minutes to complete their construction.
Congratulations Dzik! 100% of 6th Grade Khan Mastered!

Congratulations Bondar! 100% of 6th Grade Khan Mastered!

Math 6+ students completed their Topic Seven Midpoint Assessment.

Lesson Objective(s):
  • Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes.
  • Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
  • Draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates for the vertices.
  • Use coordinates to find the length of a side joining points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate.
  • Know the formulas for the area and circumference of a circle and use them to solve problems. (7th Grade)
  • Give an informal derivation of the relationship between the circumference and area of a circle. (7th Grade)
