Day 108: Review and Circles

In Math 6 today, students spent time using yesterday's homework as a review for tomorrow's Topic Seven Midpoint. Mr. Giomini had students work on the midpoint review from inside their enVision workbook to help with quiz preparation.

Math 6+ students worked with calculating the area of circles using both precise and approximate measurements.

Lesson Objective(s):
  • Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes.
  • Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
  • Know the formulas for the area and circumference of a circle and use them to solve problems.       (7th Grade)
  • Give an informal derivation of the relationship between the circumference and area of a circle.        (7th Grade)
Congratulations Joe! You are SAVAGE!
