Day 100: Concept Five Posttest / Ratios

Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students were administered the Concept Five - Percents posttest.

During Math 6 - 2°, students began Topic Nine: Ratio Concepts and Reasoning.  Students are engaged in the following concepts during this topic:
  • using ratio and ratio language to describe the relationship between two quantities
  • use diagrams and other models to represent and solve ratio problems
  • find equivalent ratios
  • compare ratios to solve problems
  • use tables and graphs to display equivalent ratios and solve problems
Today, students focused on on the relationship between two quantities where for every x units of one quantity, there were y units of another quantity.

Students in Math 6+ were administered the Concept Five - Percent posttest.

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
  1. understand the concept of ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. (2°)
  2. use one-step equations to solve percent problems. (1, 3, & 7°)
  3. find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100. (1, 3, & 7°)
  4. solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent. (1, 3, & 7°)
  5. calculate percent increase and decrease.  (1, 3, & 7°)
  6. write an inequality of the form or to represent a real-world or mathematical problem. (2°)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
  1. Math 6(1&3°):
    • Work towards 75% mastery on Khan Academy (6th Grade)
  2. Math 6(2°):
    • Complete page 430: 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22
    • Work towards 75% mastery on Khan Academy (6th Grade)
  3. Math 6+:
    • Work towards 50% mastery on Khan Academy (7th Grade)
  4. All Classes: > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
