Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students were administered the Concept Four: Rates, Ratios, and Proportions posttest.
Students then participated in a Challenge Day activity. They were assigned five problems that may or may not utilize skills taught this year. With support from Mrs. Long, Mr. Kiskin, Mr. Giomini, and each other, students looked to develop algorithms to solve complex mathematical problems.
Students in Math 6+ reviewed the results from yesterday's Concept Four: Rates, Ratios, and Proportions posttest. Mr. Giomini answered any concerns that the students may have had regarding algorithms or scores.
The class then discussed the next direction for the class. Options were provided and students shared their input.

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- understand the concept of ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. (1, 3, and 7°)
- use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems. (1, 3, and 7°)
- recognize and represent proportional relationships between similar figures. (1, 3, and 7°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6(1&3°): Work towards 50% mastery on Khan Academy (6th Grade)
- Math 6(2°): Work towards 50% mastery on Khan Academy (6th Grade)
- Math 6+: Work towards 100% mastery on Khan Academy (6th Grade)
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
