Today in Math 6 - 1 & 3°, students completed their work with the golfing performanced based task. Mr. Giomini reminded the students of things to be prepared for on tomorrow's quiz. Class begin their evening practice in class to help review for the quiz.
During Math 6 - 2°, students continued their work with solving one-step equations that incorporated addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Mr. Giomini paired students up and had them play a game called "Think Together" which strengthened the concept of solving equations with addition and subtraction.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- find and position integers and other rational numbers on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram. (1 and 3°)
- reason about and solve one-variable equations and inequalities. (2°)
- solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations of the form x + p = q and px = q for cases in which p, q and x are all nonnegative rational numbers. (2°)
- graph absolute value inequalities on a coordinate plane. (7°)
- solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers in any form. (7°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
