Today in Math 6 - 1 & 3°, students continued their work with integers utilizing them in real-world scenarios.
During Math 6 - 2°, students completed a mock assessment in preparation for tomorrow's actual assessment. Questions were scored as a class as well as modeled by Mr. Giomini.
Students in Math 6+, students worked with integers by incorporating them into a coordinate plane. The Khan Skill: Coordinate Plane Problems in all Four Quadrants was utilized in class to help deepen the student's overall understanding of the concept.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- evaluate expressions at specific values of their variables. (2°)
- understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values. (1 and 3°)
- use positive and negative numbers to represent quantities in real-world contexts. (1 and 3°)
- recognize opposite signs of numbers as indicating locations on opposite sides of 0 on the number line. (1, 3, & 7°)
- apply skills for working with coordinate planes for solving real-world and mathematical problems. (7°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6 - 1 & 3: Pages 8, 9, and 10
- Math 6 - 2°: Continue test preparation
- Math 6+: Pages 13 and 14
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
