Today in Math 6, students in 1° and 3° completed an online assessment that was automatically scored to help with test preparation for Monday's Concept One posttest.
During Math 6 - 2°, Mr. Giomini reviewed last night's homework from Lesson 1.7: Simplifying Expressions. Extended examples with combining like terms were modeled for students prior to a quick check dealing with combining like terms was administered.
Math 6+ students reviewed the previous day's pre-assessment results to address any topic concerns prior to Monday's posttest.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- write expressions that record operations with numbers and letters standing for numbers. (1 and 3°)
- identify parts of an expression using mathematical terms (sum, term, product, factor, quotient, coefficient. (2°)
- simplify algebraic expressions by combining like terms. (all classes)
- apply the properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions. (all classes)
- write and evaluate numerical expression involving whole-number exponents. (all classes)
- evaluate expressions at specific values of their variables. (all classes)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6 - 1 & 3: Practice Buddy 1.8
- Math 6 - 2°: Exponents Quick Check / Evaluate Numerical Expressions Quick Check
- Math 6+: Practice Buddy 1.8
