In Common Core Math Six, students in 1 and 3° began class by completing a Socrative quiz dealing with last night's Evening Practice on Lesson 11.5. Mr. Giomini then introduced Lesson 11.6: Solving Inequalities with Multiplication and Division.
.
In order to be admitted for a certain ride at an
amusement park, a child must be greater than or equal to 36 inches tall and
less than 48 inches tall. Create an inequality that states the given information.
During 2° students continued work in two groups. Mr. Giomini reviewed all four of the formulas that were modeled and practiced this week.
In Miss McGreer's group, students continued working with sets of data and how to calculate measures of central tendency. The class also analyzed graphs.
Students in 4° received their Chapter Eleven Midpoint Quiz and discussed common successes and possible missteps. Mr. Giomini modeled and discussed Lesson 11.4: Inequalities. Students learned how to read, write, solve, and graph linear inequalities. iPads and Chromebooks helped reinforce today's lesson by working a portion of this weekend's Weekend Practice.
Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
- 1 and 3° -
- read and write inequalities.
- graph inequalities on a number line.
- solve inequalities by multiplying and dividing.
- 2° -
- Gio's Group -
- calculate the surface area for prisms.
- calculate the surface for cylinders.
- McGreer's Group -
- explain the different measures of central tendency.
- determine which measure most accurately reflects a set of data.
- select an appropriate graph for a set of data.
- 4° -
- read and write inequalities.
- graph inequalities on a number line.
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete...
