Class Topics: 09.18.13

In Common Core Math Six today, students in 1, 3, and reviewed the results from last night's Google Form.  Mr. Giomini posed a question to students that involved today's material, Lesson 2.2 - Powers of Ten and Scientific Notation.  He then modeled and students practiced questions involved those skills.

The Earth is approximately 93,000,000 miles from the sun.  How long does it take
light from the sun to reach the earth?  Use the speed of light to be
1.86 X 10^5 miles per second.

Students in 2° discussed their Chapter One posttest results with Mr. Giomini before reviewing some material before they began Lesson 2.1 - Exponents.
