Class Topics: 02.14.13

In Math Six today, students reviewed number properties from last night's Evening Practice.  Mr. Giomini then re-introduced order of operations.  We used both the Everyday Mathematics' curriculum and Pre-Algebra curriculum to enhance our understanding of PEMDAS and how it helps us effectively solve order of operation problems.

In Pre-Algebra today, students reviewed last night's Evening Practice with Mr. Giomini before moving into the final lesson of Chapter Seven: 7.9 - Scaling Three-Dimensional Drawings.

  1. describe how the volume of a model compares to the original if the linear scale factor of the model is 1:2.
  2. explain one possible way to double the surface area of a rectangular prism.
