Class Topics: 02.12.13

In Math Six today, students reviewed their Evening Practice with Mr. Giomini.  Students then began Lesson 6.4 - Multiplication and Division of Positive and Negative Numbers.  Mr. Giomini incorporated the Pre-Algebra curriculum into today's lesson and modeled how to solve equations with positive and negative numbers.

In Pre-Algebra today, students reviewed their Evening Practice with Mr. Giomini.  Once questions were answered and clarified, students began Lesson 7.7 - Scale Drawings.  During this lesson, students worked with problems such as The length of an object on a scale drawing is 5 cm, and its actual length is 15 m.  The scale is 1 cm: ____ m.  What is the scale?  Another problem that we discussed was Under a 1000:1 microscope view, a paramecium appears to have length 39 mm.  What is the actual length of the paramecium?
