In Pre-Algebra today, students worked with Lesson 7.6 - Similar Figures. In this lesson, we first introduced the topic by showing how it is applied to a profession in the real-world by attempting to solve a problem. Mr. Giomini shared that
for polygons to be similar, corresponding angles must be congruent and corresponding
sides must have lengths that form equivalent ratios.
Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
- compare images formed by a scale factor greater than 1 to an image formed by a scale factor less than 1.
- describe one way for two figures not be similar.
- explain whether two congruent figures are similar.
