Class Topics: 01.25.13

In Math Six today, students began and completed Day One of the Unit Five Summative Posttest.  We will complete Day Two of the assessment on Monday.
Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
  1. add and subtract whole numbers.
  2. multiply and divide whole numbers.
  3. determine the area and perimeter of two-dimensional shapes.
  4. justify an answer using words, numbers and pictures.
  5. identify which measure most appropriately describes a situation.
  6. calculate an angle's measure by using that polygon's known properties.
For Weekend Practice, it is required that students...
  1. continue to prepare for Day Two's assessment by utilizing the resources on the blog.

In Pre-Algebra today, students completed the Chapter Six Summative Posttest.  This was a difficult chapter, one that is now done, but hopefully not forgotten.
Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
  1. calculate the perimeter of two and three-dimensional shape.
  2. draw an object according to one or two-point perspective.
  3. use a formula to calculate the area, volume and surface area of two and three-dimensional shapes.
  4. express answers in terms of pi and using 3.14 for pi.
For Weekend Practice, it is required that students....
  1. relax.
  2. check GBW either later tonight or tomorrow morning for updated grade and comments.
