Day 98: Math 6: Post-test / Review - Math 6+: Challenging Percents

Students in Math 6 - 1° completed their Topic Six Post-test

Math 6 - 2 and 6° continued reviewing for the Topic Six Post-test by working through the remainder of the Jeopardy game which was started yesterday.


Math 6+ students were issued another challenging problem which they navigated through smiling and enjoying the situation the entire time.


Skills that were introduced, modeled, practiced, and informally/formally assessed today in class include:
Math 6:
  • Write equivalent values as fractions, decimals, and percents.
  • Write fractions as decimals and percents when the denominator of the fraction is not 100.
  • Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 (e.g., 30% of a quantity means 30/100 times the quantity).
  • Solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent.
Math 6+:
  • Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 (e.g., 30% of a quantity means 30/100 times the quantity). 
  • Solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent.
  • Use proportional relationships to solve multistep ratio and percent problems. Examples: simple interest, tax, markups and markdowns, gratuities and commissions, fees, percent increase and decrease, percent error. (7th Grade)
