Day 83: Math 6: Calculation Quiz and Topic Six / Math 6+: Fractions, Decimals, and Percents

Math 6 students completed their final Calculation Quiz of the quarter. Once the assessment was completed, Mr. Giomini introduced Lesson 6.1: Understand Percent. A percent is a rate in which the first term is compared to 100. This language was used to help us make connections to our most recent topic on ratios.

Math 6+ students worked with generating equivalent forms of fractions, decimals, and percents.

Math 6:

• Use hundreds grids and numbers lines to represent the percent of a whole.
• Analyze and describe relationships when comparing and contrasting percent models.

Math 6+:

• Use relationships between part and whole to write equivalent fractions, decimals, and percents.
