Day 67: Math 6 - Compare Ratios / Math 6+ - Scale Drawings

Math 6 students reviewed Lessons 5.1 and 5.2 today before moving into Lesson 5.3: Compare Ratios. During this lesson, students begin to apply their understanding of ratios and equivalent ratios to compare them using common terms and they solve real-world problems.

• Fluently divide multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm.
• Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. 
• Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b with b ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship. 
• Make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements.

Math 6+:

• Fluently divide multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm.
• Solve problems involving scale drawings of geometric figures, including computing actual lengths and areas from a scale drawing and reproducing a scale drawing at a different scale. (Gr. Seven)
