Math 6 students continued their work with Lesson 4.6: Understand and Write Inequalities. Students discussed last night's evening practice before playing a Kahoot! dealing with writing inequalities from various scenarios.

Math 6+ students discussed last night's evening practice dealing with ratios before moving into Lesson 7.2: Ratios, Rates, and Unit Rates. We attempted to understand the following:

• A ratio is a comparison of two quantities.
• A rate is a ratio that has two different units.
• A unit rate is a rate in which the second quantity is 1.
• A unit price is a unit rate involving the cost of an item.

Math 6:

• Write an inequality of the form x > c or x < c to represent a constraint or condition in a real-world or mathematical problem. Recognize that inequalities of the form x > c or x < c have infinitely many solutions; represent solutions of such inequalities on number line diagrams.

Math 6+:

• Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities.  
• Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b with b ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship.
